Centro Zaragoza tests the Bridgehill reusable fire blanket on an electric vehicle.
Together with our partner Centro Zaragoza in Spain we tested our reusable car fire blanket on a battery fire in a Nissan Leaf.
The test started with enabling thermal runaway in the battery. After covering the car with the Bridgehill reusable car fire blanket, the temperature dropped from 1080°C to 244° degrees in a few seconds. Because of the thermal runaway it is not possible to extinguish the battery fire. In case of a real fire, the Bridgehill car fire blanket will isolate and prevent the fire from spreading to other cars and surroundings.
